Development of a robotic manipulator as an educational tool in technological education

In the present work the development of an articulated or anthropomorphic arm of open kinematic chain with rotary joints having threedegrees of freedom for its positioning and orientation in space is presented. The development of the manipulator involvesthe three areas of mechatronics: mechanics, electrical and computation. For the design of the project was used the methodology of Integrated Product Development Project which contains the steps of informational, conceptual, preliminary and detailed design, used in engineering and professional master's degree. All the development of creation, elaboration and evaluation of the prototype was possible due to the teaching-learning process focused on projects, where the students' training is carried out in a practical and interdisciplinary way, resulting in something palpable within the technological context. The manipulator will be coupled in a mobile robot developed also in an academic environment, with the intention of serving as a test platform for situationsof risk and rescue of human beings.
