Monitoring the rain precipitation through the "pluviometer" in IFAM-CMC.

Abstract

The present article consists in investigate the rainfall index on the premises of the IFAM-CMC. Studying the phenomenon related to the atmosphere shows a lot of importance, we can do a study, create a database, where we can verify from which period of the year, there is a high level of precipitation, avoiding that people living in risk areas get hurt because of landslides caused by precipitation, or even help farmers to check in which period there is too much rainfall so they can have control about what period is the best to plant, having a good result at the end of the harvest. Thus, we highlight that the research initially started based on a bibliographic study about the phenomenon mentioned above, as part of the defined procedures, we made a homemade pluviometer, using simple materials in its construction. From its installation, we started to collect the water blade of this pluviometer daily in a previously established schedule along with the INMET's (National Meteorological Institute) datas, which were obtained through the INMET web page, resulting in the construction of the graph "Rainfall Intensity versus Time" for the datas obtained in the IFAM-CMC as well as the datas of the station Manaus-A101.
